Peer Reviewer Process
Peer Review Process
To ensure the highest academic quality and integrity of published research, the International Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities (IJSSH) employs a strict Double-Blind Peer Review process. This means that both the identities of the reviewers and the authors are concealed from each other throughout the evaluation process, ensuring objectivity and eliminating bias.
The editorial workflow consists of the following stages:
1. Initial Editorial Screening
-
Upon submission, the Editorial Board will conduct an initial screening to ensure the manuscript aligns with the journal's Focus and Scope.
-
The manuscript will be checked for adherence to the Author Guidelines, formatting requirements, and language quality.
-
A strict plagiarism check will be conducted using Turnitin. Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 20% will be returned to the authors or immediately rejected.
-
Manuscripts that fail this initial stage will be rejected without undergoing peer review (Desk Rejection).
2. Peer Review Stage
-
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening will be assigned to at least two (2) independent expert reviewers in the relevant field.
-
Reviewers will evaluate the manuscript based on its originality, methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, depth of discussion, and overall contribution to the field of Social Sciences and Humanities.
-
The standard time allocated for reviewers to complete their evaluation is approximately 2 to 4 weeks.
3. Editorial Decision Based on the comprehensive feedback and recommendations provided by the reviewers, the Editor-in-Chief will make the final decision regarding publication. The possible decisions are:
-
Accept Submission: The manuscript is accepted for publication in its current form.
-
Revisions Required (Minor/Major): The manuscript requires revisions based on the reviewers' comments. Authors must submit the revised version within the specified timeframe.
-
Decline Submission: The manuscript is rejected due to fatal flaws in methodology, lack of originality, or failure to meet the journal's standards.
4. Final Proofreading and Publication Accepted manuscripts will go through a final copyediting and layout process. A galley proof will be sent to the corresponding author for final approval before the article is officially published online.
